During his brief but fabled tenure in Buffalo (1972-1974), WGR-TV's Ron Hunter lifted Channel 2's audience ratings, promoted sports anchor Mike Nolan, earmarked Stewart Dan as the weatherman and hired reporter Susan King. Hunter would leave Buffalo for top-paying gigs in Chicago, Philadelphia and Miami.
