From 1962 to 1978 Dave Thomas was in charge of WKBW-TV's Rocketship 7. Among the crew accompanying Thomas on his trips to outer space were Promo the Robot, Mr. Beeper and the Sweetlys. While the originally show debuted on September 10, 1962, the "New Rocketship 7" debuted for one season in 1992 with Captain Mike Randall.
