Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's Buffalo's first trafficopter report, Jack Sharpe. WEBR-AM took to the sky April 29, 1959 utilizing a locally designed Bell 47G-2 helicopter. Later, Sharpe went on to a successful political career, which included being elected as supervisor from the Town of Amherst. Sharpe was inducted into the Western New York Broadcast Hall of Fame in 1999.
