This view was taken at the corner of Washinton Street and Roosevelt Plaza on May 28, 1924. The building in the background is obvious... the Buffalo General Electric Tower -- known today as the Niagara Mohawk Tower. If you think that this building loosely resembles the Electric Tower from the Pan-American Exposition then you are correct. It was modeled after the Tower just as the Buffalo Savings Bank building was modeled after the Temple of Music. |
