Here is the corner of Pearl and Swan streets as seen in 1877. The building to the immediate left of the photograph is now used for the Pearl Street Pub, formerly Garcia's Bar and Grill.
Here is Buffalo at it's finest - where people took the street car (to Hertel Avenue) to get around, and goods were delivered to industries around the city by horse and buggy. Sadly, this view is impossible to realize today as most of the buildings were demolished long ago with the property being used for parking lots. But at one time, the streets which by today's standards seem devoid of life, were once bustling with activity. |
