Here we see the Delaware, Lackawana & Western depot at the foot of Main Street -- right on the Buffalo River. This view is looking over the railroad's freight sheds on South Park. What's interesting is that construction of the Skyway has begun with the building of the concrete pillars that carry the roadwork over the Buffalo River and beyond.
Passenger service was still in action for the D.L.& W. when this picture was taken as evidenced by the cars waiting in the yard. The tracks in the foreground continue on to the railroad's coal docks which eventually became the new Erie Basin Marina.
