Around the turn of the century, Delaware Park Lake was one of the most pristine spots in Buffalo to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. This image shows the lake's boat house and docks. Off to the right of the picture you can see the Bridge of the Three Americas -- now used as the on-ramp to the Scajaquada Expressway. Just behind the row of trees on the left would be the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.
For a small fee, patrons could rent one of these boats and take a leisurely cruise around the lake. In the wintertime, the lake was host to thousands of ice-skaters.
